Got Milk?

A few Christmas decorations are slowly making their appearances here in the Steadman household.
I am not very good at Christmas decorating and it's being a real struggle this year.

My old yellow truck is delivering fresh, ice cold milk to the Thatch community!( Ignore the new HUGE thermostat. If possible.)

Sweet Santa is watching over the Steadman Kiddo's and his Elf Pal is ready to write their names on the naughty or nice list! I bet I know which one they will be on!

I found a vintage coloring book and cut out the back cover and added it to an old frame that I had in the attic.I love big, old Santa faces!!

I am not sure that my Christmas decor will last very long this year anyway since Schrader the Grandkitty has come to visit for the holidays! He is only 6 months old and full of mischief! Zeke the WonderDog  is not very happy to have a visitor!

Oh, I forgot to tell you that it SNOWED here today! Just a good, wet dusting but with big beautiful flakes to start off my morning just right!

Back to decorating! Maybe I will be finished by the Big Day!

Happy REDNESDAY Friends!

LOVE your Santa! That was so clever to use a vintage coloring book. Your truck is fabulous too!

The kitty is the best decoration of all!

A DAY WITHOUT SCARLET

A day without scarlet, they say,
Can color the soul ashen-grey;
For if there’s no red,
The soul feels half-dead,
And has no incentive to play.

I am not big on decorating anymore since I am by myself. I enjoy seeing what others do, but it is not worth it to me.

I love that you collect old grocery containers. I use to for awhile. I have gotten rid of some of it. Now I regret it because they look so cute in your house.

I am not decorating much for Christmas because of my grandchildren, so I understand why you don't want to with having a kitty. It is so hard to not put up the tree. But Christmas isn't the decorations anyway.

I love what you have done with the coloring book picture. Great idea. It makes me what to run out to my favorite antique mall where they have the BEST vintage children's things and see what they have to decorate with. I have got to remember to take my camera out there so that I can put it on my blog.

Hey Sandie!
I love that big old Santa face you framed too...everything looks so cute :) I think you are off to a great start with your decorating. I've been decorating and I've got some vintage Santa's in the curio and a link to a story about the true story of the legend of St. Nick...He's such a cute and jolly old soul...I just had to share what I found out about him...hope you can stop by for a visit sometime...happy holidays :)
Big hugs,
Queenie

oh my goodness! You've got the cutest things! I can't remember if I've stopped by your blog before, but just browsing through for a few minutes, I can tell I need to come back!! I love this little Christmas setup you've got (and I hate ugly thermostats in prime wall decorating spots, too!!).

I took a look at the Doll-E bath on Ebay- CUTE! I'm curious how much the one you saw was?

Those milk cartons are so cute in your truck. I haven't decorated mine yet for Christmas (had it delivering pumpkins in it for Fall). Very cute holiday decor so far!

OMG!!!! I love, love, love this display!!! I love that fat Santa face too! I found an old magazine or Christmas publication from 1943 in the antique trunk that sits on my front porch!!! I had forgotten that I stored holiday decorations in the bottom of the trunk. The top is filled with a insert that can come out and it has different sections for your stuff. I found old check books, a hand written letter from 1906. I even found one lonely to from Christmas tag from the 40s I think!! I also found such paper treasures as a business license in 1926, and property taxes from 1925. 31 acres valued at 3000, personal property valued at 1494, dog tax 1.00, and pole tax 1.00 total paid was 66.54!!!! The business license says selling cows and milk. His ledgers were in the trunk too, the had lists of who he sold cows to and who he sold milk to and what they ordered. Really intersting and I had forgotten that all of that stuff was still in there including a green vintage typewriter!!!
